How To Enable Hyper-V In Windows 8.1

The usefulness of Hyper-V in Windows operating system cannot be overemphasized. Most computers(modern computers usually come with Hyper-V) which have virtualization capability due their hardware configurations fall into this group. That means you can perform the process of creating a virtual machine for use as a real system within the same Windows operating system easily.

To set up a Hyper-V in Windows 8.1 you must make sure your system meet the requirements to do that. You need to press the Windows + R key to open the Run dialog and type msinfo32 into it and click OK. After that, scroll down to the last part under System Summary information displayed to the right-hand side of the box and look for Hyper-V - Second Level Address Translation Extension (SLAT) to make sure it is enabled or else you would have to do that at the BIOS Settings.

STEP 1: Enter  your BIOS Settings. On how to access your BIOS Settings in Windows 8.1 visit this link .

STEP 2: At your BIOS Settings,  click on the 'Advanced' tab and set 'Virtualization Technology' to 'Enabled'. Press F10 key to save changes.

STEP 3: Press Windows + R key to open 'Run' dialog.

STEP 4: Type or copy and paste  control appwiz.cpl into 'Run' dialog and click on 'OK' to continue.

STEP 5: Click on 'Turn Windows features on or off ' to the left-hand side of the 'Uninstall or change a program' of your 'Control Panel'.

STEP 6: Select the little box by the side of  'Hyper-V'  and click on 'OK'

STEP 7:  Next  click on 'Restart now' to restart your system.
