How To Do 'System Restore' In Windows 8

It hasn't be smooth sailing the way one interact with the operating system of the computer. One or more error messages emanating here and there often times. The only option left at this point is to do a system installation which is not always the right thing to do due to how it can be gradually damaging to the hard disc sectors.

When this option has not be utilized it is advisable to do so without any hesitation. That is, going about Windows 8 system restore.

Going about on how to do it requires one to be conversant with ways of maneuvering or navigating through the system to where it is right to do the restore. It is required to have a restore point in a computer before it can be possible to do it. For those of us who don't have a restore point it is of no use adopting it.

Nevertheless, a restoration has something to do with action similar to backup of system files. Every time a package is installed in a system it automatically creates a restore point along with the date and time saving it somewhere in the hard disc. Whenever one wants to retrieve that particular point in time, before experiencing an error in a system, it's a matter of going back to when the system functioned efficiently.That is what restoration of a system does.  

There are two ways to do a restore in Windows 8



(a) Doing a system restore from the Desktop approach.

Step 1:  Move the mouse cursor to the extreme right-hand corner of the screen.

Step 2 :  Select 'Settings' and click on it.



Step 3:  Click 'Control Panel' and click on the small right point arrow at the browser bar to get 'All Control Panel Items'.

Step 4:  Look for 'Recovery' and click on it.

Step 5:  Choose the ' Open System Restore' among the options and click it.

Step 6:  Select 'Choose a different restore point' and click 'Next'.

Step 7:  Select 'Show more restore points' and 'Scan for affected programs' to see which programs that would be affected and click 'Next' to do the restoration.



(b) Doing a system restore from the Setup point in Windows 8


Step 1:  Restart the computer  immediately after the system logo depress F8.

Step 2:  At 'Choose an option' screen click 'Troubleshoot'.

Step 3:  At 'Troubleshoot' window click 'Advanced option'.

Step 4:  Click on 'System restore' at the 'Advanced option' screen.

Step 5:  At the system restore choose a restore point when your computer worked efficiently.
